Enabling Nature-based Infrastructure Investment in Rwanda

Objectives: The grant aims to mobilize investments for sustainable infrastructure in Rwanda by enhancing government capacity to integrate sustainability, resilience, and inclusiveness into national infrastructure policies and financial strategies. The initiative focuses on improving the enabling environment for public and private sustainable finance, emphasizing nature-based solutions and green financing. It facilitates South-South cooperation, leveraging UNEP’s expertise, to engage the private sector and achieve substantial outcomes. Key actions include calibrating fiscal, legal, and regulatory frameworks to support nature-based solutions, ensuring alignment with financial sector needs, international best practices, and national priorities.
