Unlocking Economic Potential in Lake Turkana - Turkana and Marsabit Countieske

Objectives: The "Sustainably Unlocking the Economic Potential of Lake Turkana" program, launched by the WFP in collaboration with local government authorities and supported by UNESCO and EKN, seeks to enhance food security and economic wellbeing for vulnerable populations near Lake Turkana in response to climate change. The initiative targets the development of fisheries and takes a systemic approach focusing on climate-resilient livelihoods, food and nutrition security, and resource management and stewardship, with cross-cutting themes of gender equality, conflict sensitivity, community engagement, and youth empowerment to foster sustainability and peacebuilding.
