Innovation Challenge - Local Solutions for a Greener Kigoma

Objectives: The "Innovation Challenge: Local Solutions for a Greener Kigoma" operates under the Kigoma Joint Programme Phase II, which is a collaboration between the Government of Tanzania and the United Nations. The initiative focuses on improving sustainable development in Kigoma through green, community-based livelihood opportunities, addressing challenges like limited energy access, environmental degradation, and economic constraints prevalent in the region. It aims to encourage local, innovative solutions that can enhance energy access, promote sustainable livelihoods, and boost climate resilience. The challenge seeks proposals that promote renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, eco-friendly technologies, and community-based environmental management, specifically benefiting women and youth. Successful projects are expected to deliver innovative, scalable solutions that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
