LBN-CO-CFP-122-25 Developing and implementing a process for enhancing local capacities for conflict prevention, insider mediation, and peace building in targeted communities/clusters (9 communities and 2 clusters) in North & Akkar Governorates

Objectives: The project aims to enhance local capacities for conflict prevention, insider mediation, and peacebuilding in targeted communities and clusters within North & Akkar governorates in Lebanon, following the region's history of sectarian, political, and regional conflicts. The primary focus is on empowering Mechanisms for Social and Local Development (MSLD) committees with skills and resources to serve as early-warning mechanisms, respond proactively to emerging issues, mitigate tensions, and manage conflicts peacefully. The initiative also seeks to counteract misinformation and hate speech while promoting inclusive leadership and community collaboration. Through capacity building, strategic local peace planning, and hands-on activities, the project fosters long-term economic and social stability by involving municipal bodies, community actors, and youth groups in joint conflict resolution processes.
