Support for training and entrepreneurship for employment development in the tourism sector

Objectives: The initiative "Support for training and entrepreneurship for employment development in the tourism sector"—AID 012824/01/3—is aimed at fostering the creation of dignified jobs, particularly for women and youth in the Ethiopian tourism sector. It focuses on skill development and capacity building in tourism-related fields such as ecotourism, hospitality, and heritage conservation. With a financial provision of €2,500,000, the initiative supports both existing enterprises and the creation of new small and medium enterprises by promoting gender-balanced, innovative, and digital approaches. Emphasis is placed on supporting vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, through partnerships with local and international bodies. The expected outcomes include skill enhancement for tourism operators and development of strategic tourism products in Jimma.
