Description

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation is a charitable, non-profit private foundation established by the Dell family. The foundation is not affiliated with Dell Technologies.

Grants

We collaborate with organizations dedicated to unlocking human opportunity. Our funding advances projects making an impact in education, health, and family economic stability.

Explore a Partnership - Partnerships That Drive Impact

We build pathways that change lives through long-term partnerships with organizations delivering measurable results. The teams leading our work in each focus area and geography identify high-impact programs and come alongside them to scale what’s working.

Most of our partnerships develop through direct relationships, with our teams identifying and connecting with aligned organizations in our focus areas. We’re also genuinely open to organizations we haven’t yet met. If your work aligns with our focus areas and shows real results, we’d welcome the chance to learn more. Below, we share where we invest, what we look for, and why.

We don’t have open grant cycles.

We reach out directly to organizations whose work aligns with ours. We are, however, open to hearing from organizations doing strong, aligned work. You can share a project using this form. We review all submissions and will reach out directly if there’s a strong fit, though due to volume we’re not able to respond to every inquiry.

Locations

India

India has been expanding transport (roads, railways, ports), energy (renewables and grid modernisation) and digital infrastructure to support rapid urbanisation, industrial growth and integration into global value chains. Through flagship initiatives such as the National Infrastructure Pipeline and PM Gati Shakti Master Plan, the government aims to reduce logistics costs, boost manufacturing competitiveness, and improve connectivity across regions. Public capital expenditure has risen sharply, with increased emphasis on public–private partnerships and climate-aligned investments, while mobilising financing through innovative funds and investor incentives. Key challenges include managing fiscal sustainability, improving project implementation efficiency and reinforcing institutional governance to attract long-term private capital at scale.

Institutional frameworks and planning capacity are relatively strong, contributing to efficient project delivery and high standards of service quality. Ongoing challenges include managing energy transition targets, climate resilience and balancing infrastructure expansion with social and environmental considerations.
