United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is a federal government agency based in the United States the main responsibility of which is to monitor civilian foreign aid to assist people overseas who encounter problems when attempting to improve their lives, recover from disaster or live in a free and democratic nation. The agency functions in numerous countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. USAID West Africa (Ghana) has issued a cooperative agreement, “USAID Accelerating Social and Behavior Change activity (ASBC)” the goal of which is to increase and preserve the approval of priority health behaviors and applications for better health outcomes, focusing on family planning/reproductive health, preventing the spread of malaria and offering ways for its treatment, maternal, newborn and child health, domestic level water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), maternal and child nutrition and public health emergencies such as COVID-19. The anticipated award date is August 31, 2021.
