Call: "PARTICIPATIVE LANDSCAPE DEVELOPMENT IN THE REGION OF SIDAMA, ETHIOPIA, II." For 2021

On 10 August 2021, the Czech Development Agency announces a grant call for the submission of grant applications for the implementation of new projects within the bilateral ODA grant program “ PARTICIPATIVE LANDSCAPE DEVELOPMENT IN THE SIDAMA, ETHIOPIA, II. " For the year 2021.

The submitted project proposals will be prepared for the period 2021-2024 and will also aim at meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

Eradicate poverty in all its forms all over the world
1.5 Strengthen the resilience of the poor and vulnerable and mitigate their vulnerability to extreme weather events and other economic, social and environmental shocks and disasters

Eradicate hunger, achieve food security and improve nutrition, promote sustainable agriculture
2.4 Ensuring sustainable food production systems and resilient farming practices that increase productivity and production, help preserve ecosystems and gradually improve soil quality

Take immediate action to combat climate change and manage its effects
13.1 Increase resilience and adaptability to dangers related to climate and natural disasters

Protect, restore and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss
15.2 Support the introduction of sustainable management of all types of forests, stop deforestation and restore destroyed forests

15.3 Combating desertification, restoring degraded land, including land affected by desertification, drought or floods

At the same time, the project ideas will be in accordance with the Bilateral Development Cooperation Program between the Czech Republic and Ethiopia (2018-23), and must contribute to this goal:

Strengthening community knowledge and skills, including inducing a positive change in behavior leading to more efficient management of natural resources and thus improving the living standards of the population in selected villages (kebelů ) with special emphasis on women and other disadvantaged groups

As part of the grant title, project proposals will be submitted, the subject of which will be the proposal of a comprehensive solution with the aim of preventing soil degradation and contributing to increasing soil quality, nutrition and land use planning in all 14 identified target cables .

The deadline for submitting an application  for the provision of a subsidy on the basis of this call is set for 5 October 2021 by 3 pm , according to the instructions in the call.
