Contribute to the success of the HerStart Innovate the Future program by flexing your communications, facilitation and creativity skills. Collaborate on the design and delivery of innovative trainings and resources for the HerStart social entrepreneurship programs in Tanzania, Ghana and Uganda and the HerStart Fellowship programs globally. This is an opportunity to strengthen your CV with practical resource development, facilitation and design experience. In the process, learn about women’s empowerment, climate action and social entrepreneurship – pivotal frameworks that are shaping the future of work and social impact globally.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Actively engage in and complete orientation training modules on diverse topics including social entrepreneurship, climate action and gender equality
Lead on the design and facilitation of Fellowship Community of Practice sessions and materials to engage and empower HerStart Fellows across each country
Support the team in improving, designing, editing and testing trainings, platforms and resources for the HerStart Fellowship and social entrepreneurship programs
Complete partnership and opportunity mapping to support business development and Fellowship recruitment strategies
Support in the development and promotion of communications materials for the program, including internal program updates and the HerStory Podcast series
Contribute high quality resources and opportunities to the HerStart Toolkit and Resources Database
Collaborate virtually with staff, partners and fellows in each country to coordinate program logistics and engage in the overall HerStart community
Desired Qualifications for this Position
Experience in facilitating trainings, developing educational resources and designing communications materials
Passion for learning, facilitation and supporting the knowledge and skill development of others
Strong communications and design skills with high attention to detail
Tech-savvy with knowledge of diverse platforms and interest in learning new ones (including Canva, Slack, Airtable and Mighty Networks)
Strong organization, teamwork and time management skills in virtual settings
Ability to be proactive, flexible and take initiative
Ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes openness to differing opinions and views
Eligibility Requirements
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Must have fluent or professional level English (written and verbal) skills
Ability to commit to full term of engagement at 21 hours/week during weekdays
Currently enrolled in or graduated from a relevant post-secondary degree or diploma, or have the equivalent work experience
Demonstrate interest in the fields of international development, gender equality, climate action and/or social entrepreneurship
Access to a computer with standard software applications and stable internet connection
Flexibility in schedule, particularly mornings (able to attend most weekday meetings and trainings coordinated across different time zones)
Proficiency in standard software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
