WFP Pacific Multi-Country Office is compiling a talent pool of expert consultants both local and international for a variety of thematic areas of focus to undertake analyses to strengthen WFP’s support to Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICT).

Please note that this is a call for expression of interest, and not a consultancy posting. The consultants in the talent pool may be contacted for specific projects throughout the year, when consultancies for the Pacific Multi-Country Office arise.

Applicants should have extensive experience working in the Pacific region and understand WFP’s role in supporting capacity strengthening and technical assistance to government and civil society counterparts across the region.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Educations: Master's degree from an accredited institution in the field of specializations.

Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.

Knowledge and skills:

  • High level of technical skill and experience relevant to sectoral expertise listed above
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Have experience working in the Pacific
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural team, and establish effective working relationship with persons of different national and cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with counterparts and staff in the office, host population, the Government of Fiji, donors, other CBT actors, UN agencies and others is desirable

Core Values: A genuine interest in the humanitarian/development sector and in WFP’s mission; full alignment with humanitarian principles; service-minded; partnership and accountability strongly valued.

Language: Excellent command of English (oral and written). Working knowledge of official UN and national languages is desirable.
