The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is a private diplomacy organisation founded on the principles of humanity, impartiality and independence. Its mission is to help prevent, mitigate, and resolve armed conflict through dialogue and mediation. HD operates in more than 40 countries with a headcount of over 300 employees. HD is currently looking for a:
Deputy Regional Director – South and South-East Asia
Location: Singapore
Starting date: 1 February 2022
Supporting the Regional Director, the Deputy will assist in structuring, managing and coordinating HD’s operation in the South and South-East Asia region.
The Deputy Regional Director will actively support the programme, in line with strategic directions and in cooperation with other regions where HD is active.
Specifically, this involves:
Helping to design and develop HD’s strategy for the region, translate it into concrete goals and results and monitor progress against these goals on a regular basis;
Oversee General compliance, both editorial and financial to ensure timely and accurate reporting;
Assisting in managing the regional team, both staff and consultants,, implementing learning and development tools , to foster harmony and effectiveness;
Recruiting staff with the support of HR and adapt the team’s structure with a strategic approach
Coordinating between HD’s South and South-East Asia team and other teams inside and outside the organization;
Expanding HD’s Network by proactively developing and maintaining relations with donors and other key interlocutors, including government officials, politicians, private sector and civil society representatives;
Identifying opportunities for inter-regional programmes and cross-regional cooperation, including organizing the regional annual event
Offering mediation support to the project teams and function as the regional focal point and coordinator for the Global Mediation Support Unit based in Geneva, including participating in strategic or peer reviews;
Representing HD at meetings and events, including facilitating dialogues.
The successful candidate is expected to have:
10 to 15 years of experience in project management, fundraising, donor management and mediation support.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills (in English),
Strong administrative, coordination and organisational skills,
Experience working with, and reporting to, headquarters abroad as well as distance management. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.

Detailed-oriented, entrepreneur and a good multitasker,
The position will report to the Regional Director – South and South-East Asia and requires to travel out of Singapore frequently.
