JOB DESCRIPTION

EMN is looking for an experienced communications practitioner to support its short-term communications actions, and to help launch a high-profile project in collaboration with other European partners dealing with support to third country nationals. To achieve this, we are looking for a committed, focused, highly energetic communications professional for an expected duration of 5 months.
TASKS

Project related

Establish and implement a dissemination strategy: consolidating project information and results of the project into comprehensive and easy to read, tailored for the target audiences and stakeholders. The information collected will define an advanced dissemination strategy allowing an easy knowledge transfer.
Design and implement a communications strategy: A detailed communications strategy and action plan will include a detailed planning of all communications actions, including key messages, over the project duration according to the defined target audiences and stakeholder networks, analysis and impact assessment of all of the communication actions, a series of communication tools will be developed, logo & visual identity.
Create, deploy, and launch a project website with standard features (project description, publication of deliverables, announcement of events and link to registrations, etc.).
Ensure project content management and social media engagement, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter managed accounts to communicate via social media on the project and its results, build a community and increase engagement.
Establish new close collaboration and ties with networks, initiatives at European and national/regional level to share information and exploit synergies and additional dissemination channels.
Valuable outputs generated in the various parts of project will be turned into visually appealing and easy to understand infographics to push them on the project website and social media to boost engagement and awareness.

Support to EMN usual communications work

The short-term expert will also be engaged in regular EMN communications outputs, as described below:

Publishing regular updates on the website (news, calls, events, publications…)
Producing/writing the EMN newsletter, the members-addressed communications, and other EMN bulk mailings
Managing social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and, eventually, Flickr and YouTube)
Monitoring financial inclusion, social inclusion, microfinance and EU policy news
Creating visual content to support EMN’s communications outputs
Liaising with design/communications stakeholders and other service providers when required

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Essential skills and attitude

Extremely proactive, positive, making things happen, not taking no for an answer
Working experience (3-5 years) in communications in an international/European environment (experience in member-based not-for-profit organisation will be highly appreciated)
Fluency in English – close to native level (written and spoken)
Excellent writing skills (bulk emails, website items, social media)
Proofreading skills (attending to communication criteria)
Good knowledge of content-management systems (CMS)
Knowledge of Google Analytics and MailChimp
Basic working knowledge of HTML
Well-organised and innovative-thinking mind; openness to test new approaches

Desirable skills

Working experience in microfinance, social or ethical finance, social enterprise or similar is an asset
Knowledge of video/pictures editing software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, etc. will be considered a plus

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

The role will be remote. This is a full-time, 5-month position in the organisation and gross remuneration will be agreed with the preferred candidate and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position can transform into longer term subject to opportunities and performance.
