management4health GmbH is shortlisted for the EU-funded tender: “Knowledge Hub for expertise on Health, Social Protection and Socio-Economic Inequalities” in Brussels.

The overall objective (Impact) to which this action contributes is to increase the benefits generated by the human development aspects/components of EU programmes for the target population, including women, people and groups living in poverty and vulnerable situations, at global, regional, and country level.

The Hub will provide expertise and knowledge to EC HQ services and EU Delegations worldwide in the areas of addressing health, socio-economic inequalities, and social protection. It will support sector specific policy formulation in these areas, including covering Social Protection across the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus (SPaN), and contributing to EC participation in international initiatives.

Your profile

Mandatory:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent diploma) in relevant fields (related to economic development, social sciences, human development, development cooperation). In its absence, the master degree can be replaced by 5 years of professional experience in one or more of these fields, in addition to the minimum general professional experience.
  • Proficiency in English, including writing official documents (at least level C1).

Asset:

  • Good command of spoken and written French (at least B2 level).

General professional experience

Mandatory:

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in the area of “addressing Inequalities” covering (i) development cooperation policy, (ii) programme formulation, (iii) management, (iv) monitoring and (v) evaluation (of which, at least 5 years, in development cooperation15);
  • Professional experience with EU development programmes and policies including EU financial instruments in external relations.
  • Professional experience on projects requiring interpersonal and group communication skills, good command of digital engagement and digital co-creation. Demonstrated capacity to deliver and analyze surveys using remote contact methods.
  • Professional experience operating in public and international cooperation environments, demonstrated by relevant successful assignments/experience.

Asset:

  • Previous experience related to EU programmes in partner countries.
  • At least 1-year experience in developing countries in the field. 

Specific professional experience

Mandatory:

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in research policy advice and/or teaching on Development Cooperation with experience on inequalities.
  • Professional experience with the global debate on Inequalities at large and EU approach to Inequalities in partner countries. Such knowledge should be demonstrated by relevant assignments and/or publications.
  • Professional experience with operational tools and mechanisms related to the implementation of the EU approach to “address Inequalities” at macro-policy level and partner countries contexts.
  • Professional experience with the EU methodologies of work in the areas of Inequalities (e.g., budget support, results framework for indicators);
  • Professional experience with digital solutions for Inequalities (registration, service delivery, monitoring…).

Location information

The normal place of posting of the experts for lot 2 will be Brussels. Arrangements for teleworking from the experts’ place of residence can be possible.

Start date & period of implementation

The indicative start date of the contract is December 2022 for lot 2. The period of implementation of the contract will be 48 months for lot 2.
