You will join the ‘Regional and local governance’ team that is working on European projects in the areas of sustainable regional, urban and rural development, and just transition. Our activities consist mostly of stakeholder and community engagement through technical assistance and running Secretariats for the European Commission (e.g. management and coordination of European policy networks, including other related stakeholder involvement activities) and consultancy work. Our clients are mainly EU institutions.

What you will be doing

Together with the team, you will prepare proposals and contribute to project implementation of technical assistance, Secretariats and beyond.
As a Junior Consultant or Consultant, your role will include:

Working on European projects, mainly in the field of sustainable regional, urban and rural development, from work winning and inception to delivering the final report and dissemination;
Development and implementation of stakeholder engagement methods;
Proposal preparation, including drafting methodological sections and support with administrative documents;
Providing high quality inputs to reports, presentation and other consultancy outputs;
Collaborating with other teams, experts, organizations and other stakeholders;
Depending on your experience, managing and delivering (part of) projects and/or specific tasks, including coordination of different activities (research, communication, events, etc.).

What we will need from you

Academic background: a university degree in regional, urban or rural development, political science, economics, international relations, human geography, or a related field;
Working experience:
For Junior Consultant: at least 1 year of work experience in a relevant field.
For Consultant:
a track record of at least 2 to 3 years of work experience in a relevant field, ideally with experience in consultancy;
Experience in stakeholder management and engagement;
Experience in EU tendering process and project implementation.
Personal skills:
Excellent organizational and project management capabilities;
An excellent level of written and spoken English developed through an extended period of study or work experience in an English-speaking environment;
Good knowledge and understanding of the functioning of EU institutions and key EU policies;
Excellent presentation skills;
Strong analytical skills;
Ability to take initiatives, to manage multiple tasks and to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously;
Willingness and enthusiasm to work on a wide range of topics;
Good teamwork abilities, particularly in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary context;
A curious mind.
