Background

To promote a safe and enabling social environment that is free from Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in China, UN Women China Office has selected Beijing Dongcheng Yuanzhong Family and Community Development Service Center (hereinafter abbreviated as “Yuanzhong”) as Responsible Party (RP) to enhance the capacity of CSOs GBV service providers in GBV prevention and response based on the roll-out of standardized essential service package through the development of systematic training of trainer (ToT) module, delivery of ToT workshop, and providing technical support to selected GBV CSO service providers in 2022.

One of the key assignment within the cooperation between UN Women and Yuanzhong is to develop the social service manual on GBV and organize ToT/capacity building Workshops. Following the capacity development workshops, there will be technical support provided to selected GBV CSO Service providers.

Therefore, a senior CSO Consultant with professional expertise on leading CSOs and ToT Workshop development and implementation is demanded to guide Yuangzhong. The senior CSO Consultant will be in charge of reviewing the manual developed by selected experts and providing feedbacks, reviewing training slides selected and providing feedbacks, and providing support for CSO.


Duties and Responsibilities

Main Objective

To provide technical support to Yuanzhong on the development of social service manual on GBV
To guide Yuanzhong on the worshop design and organization
To provide overall technical input on capacity development for GBV CSOs

Scope of Work:

The Consultant is responsible for the following tasks:

1. Review of the CSO GBV manual developed by selected experts and provide feedbacks

2. Review of ToT training slides selected and provide feedbacks

3. Provide support of selected CSOs after the capacity development workshop.

Required Skills and Experience

Experience and required qualifications

The consultant should demonstrate qualifications, experience and competencies in the following areas:

Minimum educational requirement: Master’s degree in social science, law, human rights, and other relevant field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree
At least 5 years’ working experience under the domestic violence sector, including training, research, and practice
Proven experience on GBV manual development
Proven experience on trainings/workshops design on issues of women’s rights, gender equality, and GBV in China
Proficient in Chinese is required
