Project Name: Traceability and audit sharing study

Location:

• Normal place of posting of the specific assignment: Home-based.
• Mission(s) outside the normal place of posting and duration(s): Yes, at least 1 mission per one or more priority sectors to a country related to the assignment

Start date and period of implementation:

• The indicative start date is 21/06/2022 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 215 days from this date (indicative end date: 22/01/2023)
• Working days: min 30.

Position: Data collection expert:

• General description of the position: The expert will support the drafting of key documents indicated in these terms of reference. He/she will also support liaison activities with key stakeholders and industry actors for this purpose.
• Expert category: Cat. II (>6 years of experience)
• Qualifications and skills required: The candidate must hold a relevant university degree in international trade, international economics/law, social or political science, development studies, preferably with a post-graduate degree, or equivalent professional experience.
• General professional experience: The candidate should have at least 6 years of relevant experience in sustainable sourcing and international trade and at least 3 years of working experience in developing analytical reports and project management.
• Specific professional experience: The candidate must have experience in desk research, collection of data and literature review, and conducting interviews with enterprises, business organizations, governments, and other relevant stakeholders for at least 3 years. Excellent data collection and drafting skills may be attested by past involvement in relevant positions, having conducted at least 2 similar assignments. The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to involve diverse stakeholders, to achieve constructive outcomes attested by at least 2 similar assignments where the involvement of stakeholders was done.
• Language skills: Excellent written and oral skills in English (level C1).
• Minimum number of working days: 30 days
• Additional information: The project’s scope and activities are global, with desk and field research activities to be conducted from a remote office. In case the expert is in Brussels, ToR template OPSYS – Part B Page 3 of 5in-person meetings can take place. There is however no budget envisaged to that end.
