The Goethe-Institut in Brussels is recruiting from 01/09/2022 (or later) until 30/06/2025

two Communications Officers (male/female/diverse) for the EU-funded programme «Culture Moves Europe»
Full-time position: 100% (38 hours per week)
Place of work: Brussels

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. We promote knowledge of German abroad and encourage international cultural exchange. The Goethe-Institut will implement «Culture Moves Europe» on behalf of the European Commission, a full-scale mobility scheme for artists, cultural professionals and host organisations in all Creative Europe countries. The mobility scheme will offer grants for mobility over a period of three years (2022-2025). Be part of this fascinating endeavour to promote the internationalisation of the creative and cultural sector in Europe.

The remit of the position will include the following main activities:

  • Assist Senior Communications Officer in the development of a strong communication strategy
  • Gathering relevant inputs and development of creative, innovative and fresh contents for digital tools, including programme's news, artists's projects' promotion to be published and promoted on social media and website on regular base;
  • Active development and management of social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube) by drafting and publishing regular posts.
  • Regular update of the website;
  • Monitor website ad social media feeds and support drafting of periodical reports (every 6 months) including gathering statistics and data regarding engagement, outreach and geographical balance while enhancing social meda performance;
  • Develop clear protocols for sharing information, communicating and engaging with partner organizations and across the organization;
  • Drafting press release and media articles;
  • Supervision of video production (small capsule videos and longer film).

Our requirements:

  • University degree (or equivalent) and relevant professional experience in communication;
  • Creativity and experience in developing and ensuring a strong coherent visual identity among communication elements (creation of content for social media, design of publications and project documentation);
  • "Digital native" with proven experience in management of digital tools (Canva, Illustrator), social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram) and web management (content management);
  • Experience with small video editing desirable;
  • Experience with EU or international projects would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of the field of Cultural and Creative industries, performing and visual arts and interest in developing connections and partnerships in the field would be an asset;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English; German and other foreign language skills would be an advantage.
