Full-time position based in Brussels.

A.SPIRE is a European Association that represents ten European industrial sectors (cement, ceramics, chemicals, engineering, minerals and ores, non-ferrous metals, steel, water, refining and pulp&paper) and the research & innovation interests of more than 180 members (companies, research & technology organisations et al.). A.SPIRE is a private partner implementing the Processes4Planet co-programmed Partnership launched as part of the Horizon Europe framework programme.
JOB DESCRIPTION
PROVIDING VALUE TO AND FROM SPIRE/P4PLANET PROJECTS

Your goal is to ensure the APG and the BoD have an overview of several aspects of the projects and on the evolution and accomplishment of P4Planet’s funding envelope. You will work in collaboration with the Innovation Manager and with A.SPIRE portfolio management transversal team.

Types of tasks include:

Keep a fluent communication with project coordinators on the projects’ developments;
Keep record of the main outputs of the projects and H4Cs (collaboration with the ECoP);
Support information exchange between projects which address the same calls and related areas across sectors (including joint events);
Support projects and H4Cs on ad-hoc requests for action;
Collaborate with the Communications Assistant on support to projects on communication;
Collaborate/present P4Planet and A.SPIRE in the projects’ kick-off meetings;
Contribute to the organization of the reporting to capture the progress of the projects and to elaborate a gap analysis of how far P4Planet calls are addressing our SIRA 2050.

PROVIDING VALUE TO MEMBERS THROUGH KNOWLEDGE SHARING AND NETWORKING ACTIVITIES

Your goal is to develop and implement a full proposal on how A.SPIRE will reformulate and boost the added value to its members, through brokerage activities, networking and other facilitation activities.

Activities to support A.SPIRE members increase their participation and success rate in P4Planet topics, including:
Organisation (and facilitation) of the yearly brokerage event (in Brussels or other European countries);
Facilitation of on-line networking activities along the year: for proposals or for other types of exchanges (peer exchanges among members, bottom-up proposals, knowledge sharing among members…);
Develop proposals, organize and facilitate real networking actions in all our events (to provide further added value beyond the informal coffee break exchanges).
Identification of bottom-up proposals from A.SPIRE members. Collaboration with the Operations Person and the ED to channel such proposals;
Identification of calls/funding opportunities for A.SPIRE to increase their value to members. Collaboration with the Operations Manager and the Innovation manager in the preparation of such proposals.

ACTIVE CONRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ADVOCACY ACTIONS

Your goal here is to contribute to the implementation of A.SPIRE advocacy strategy in collaboration with the ED and the Chair of the Ambassadors Group.

Collaboration with the ED to set the yearly advocacy plan;
Contribute to the organisation and follow up of the Ambassadors Group activities, including the MS workshops (once or twice a year);
Organisation of advocacy activities in which the President and/or the ED participate;
Support to the development of advocacy content: position papers, speeches;
Support the ED in the organization of advocacy activities related to SPIRE-SAIS, including the Pact for Skills;
Organise A.SPIRE participation in external conferences (e.g. IndTech); including the development of the agenda of P4Planet dedicated sections in such type of conferences;
Prepare information for the ED and the BoD on how the level of P4Planet funding is fulfilling the EC commitment in P4Planet MoU. Contribute to related advocacy documents/actions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE – REQUIRED

University degree in business administration, political science, international relations or related field. A degree in engineering or other technical area related to A.SPIRE sectors would be a great asset;
Knowledge of A.SPIRE/P4Planet environment and awareness of A.SPIRE sectors and climate policy context.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND LANGUAGES 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Other languages are an asset;
Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Outlook and MS Office (Word, Excel);  
Experience in project management  or capacity of analysis and to translate policy and industrial context for non-experts audience;
Excellent organizational skills.

OTHER SKILLS  

Proactive, able to work autonomously and to take full responsibility of assigned tasks in short time; 
Capacity to structure complex content into simple and reader-friendly documents (e.g. policy, technical documents, reports…); delivering high-quality results is essential for this role; 
Should be well organized and with high capacity to programme well in advance and to retro-plan;  
Capacity of analysis, flexible and open-minded;
A team player with real social and communication skills and good at multi-tasking in a collaborative and helpful spirit;  
Ready to work with us in a small team and also with our members and other stakeholders, including the European Commission and representatives from the Members States and the regions;
A sense of diplomacy and community is very important;  
Flexible availability for events and other ad-hoc meetings in Brussels and Europe is needed.
