The Philanthropy Europe Association (Philea) is looking for a Programme Officer – Climate, who will work closely with the Senior Programme Manager – Climate Thematic Networks to develop and ensure an excellent delivery of Philea’s project portfolio on environmental and climate challenges.
The overall objectives of the role are to:

support the management of Philea’s thematic networks focused on environmental and climate challenges;
effectively manage and implement EU-funded projects;
develop and manage effective relationships with key stakeholders in the European philanthropy sector.

Duration:

An initial period of one year and may be subject to extension.

Starting date: mid-October
Profile:

Educational Qualifications: University degree;
Between 2 and 4 years of professional experience in the position or similar positions;
Experience in working with and coordinating multiple stakeholders at a European level;
Ability to multitask and the capacity to work well under time constraints;
Good writing and communication skills;
Fluency in English, other languages would be an asset;
Knowledge of the environmental and climate field is an asset.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Thematic network management:

Work closely with the Senior Programme Manager – Climate Thematic Networks to support the effective delivery and implementation of the workplan of the European Foundations for Sustainable Agriculture and Food (EFSAF) thematic network, in accordance with Philea’s strategy and objectives;
Work closely with the Senior Programme Manager – Climate Thematic Networks and the Senior Grants Manager to develop and implement multi-annual fundraising strategies to ensure the sustainability and growth of the network (i.e. draft and submission grant requests though the different donor's platforms, report on activities and expenditures at the end of the financing period);
Provide day-to-day support to the members of the thematic network by identifying and following priority initiatives, developing workplans, and drafting activity reports;
Support the organisation of events and meetings in close cooperation with the EFSAF members, and in particular the Chairmanship, while ensuring the follow-up on the action points.

Project management:

Assist in the project management of EU-funded projects, such as FOODPATHS (Horizon Europe), while ensuring the timely delivery of the commitments;
Actively develop and create further synergies between the project’s activities and EFSAF.

Representation and networking:

Together with the Senior Programme Manager, develop and manage effective relationships with the members of the EFSAF group, other relevant foundations and networks, as well as key stakeholders in the philanthropic ecosystem linked to environment and climate challenges.
