Behavior Change Communication (BCC) Specialist

Qualification Requirement:

• Post graduate degree in social sciences
• Diploma in Public relations/ Mass Communication
• Minimum 10 years experience in media/ communication work
• Experience of producing IEC material in English and Hindi Experience of content designing and conducting IEC activities
• Experience of working in ADB/ World Bank/KfW projects will be preferred

Responsibility:

• Detail out communication strategy to implement ADB compliant BCC plan
• Work closely with the Gender Specialist to ensure a gender sensitive communications plan is designed and implemented
• Through baseline surveys and consultations conduct: o Assessment of constraints towards services and hygiene behavior, including but not limited to poor access to water and sanitation services
• Design and deliver a communication program o to change perceptions, leading to behavior change among community members to access, use and pay for improves water and sanitation services o to generate demand and trigger sanitation needs towards success of sewerage and septage management subprojects.
• Design material for outreach activities to build awareness on water supply and sanitation in both poor and non poor communities
• Design and implement strategies to develop a sense of ownership for infrastructure and services and attitude of communities to accept improved services and continue to pay for it
• Conduct project awareness campaigns during Pre construction, Construction and post construction phases
• Plan and implement various IEC strategies such as electronic, print mass media, interpersonal communication, leaflets, posters, handbills, stickers, banners and other locally relevant BCC tools and materials
• Documentation and maintain sex disaggregated data related to outreach activities for the purpose of monitoring
