Description

ILSTA in an important implementing agency in development cooperation and supports and trains lawyers, judges, prosecutors and law enforcement agencies in the Lao PDR and Mekong region.

ILSTA is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Administrative officer, to be located in Vientiane/Lao PDR

The incumbent will :

  • Perform a wide range of office support and administrative functions,
  • Respond or draft responses to routine correspondence and other communications for a wide variety of large, complex documents and reports,
  • Organise weekly staff meetings, elaborate weekly workplans and follow up on progress
  • Provide secretarial, administrative and logistics support to meetings, conferences,
  • Maintain calendar/schedules; monitors changes and communicates relevant information to appropriate staff,
  • Prepare official communications and documents and proofreads documents and edits texts for accuracy, grammar,
  • Liaise with counterparts,
  • Undertake actions related to the administration of the Institutes’  human resource activities, manage leave requests, assist in recruitments, performance appraisal, job descriptions, contracts and staff management, supervision of staff, and follow up with consultants,
  • Edit and prepare Terms of Reference for consultancies,
    Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements and profile:

A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in providing general office support, administrative services, finance, accounting, audit and human resources is required.

The ability to work in a development country, ability to work under pressure; ability to apply good judgment in the context of assignments given. Shows pride in work and in achievements; demonstrates professional competence and mastery of subject matter; is conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines, and achieving results; is motivated by professional rather than personal concerns; shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges; remains calm in stressful situations; working experience in Southeast Asia is an asset.

Education:

University degree in a relevant field is required.
