FCA is seeking a Partnerships and Funding Coordinator to work as part of the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers team (Helsinki or other FCA office). The Network’s Partnerships and Funding Coordinator is responsible for consortium building, grant writing and prospecting and researching to make compelling, relevant pitches, and to engage with supporters and potential funding partners through in-person and written engagement.
Main areas of responsibility include:
Prospecting, researching and advancing funding opportunities
Identify new sources of funding and maintain a long-lasting donor relation to support the Network’s funding needs in close collaboration with FCA’s Global Grants (GG)
Work directly with Network’s (and where beneficial FCA’s) management and staff to implement Network fundraising activities, based on the Network’s stratey.
Provide tailor-made analyses, recommendations and guidance on key partners, major donors and institutional funding to the Network Secretariat in close collaboration with Network partners, including FCA Americas and FCA.
Build consortia and solicit contributions from major donors, foundations, corporate and/or public sector agencies via in-person and through written solicitations and grant proposals.
Analyze the interests of funding partners and prospect donors to develop compelling pitches, campaigns, engagement strategies and joint fundraising activities.
Develop funding applications including concept notes, proposals, budgets, and logframes. through coordination with partners, Network programme and finance staff, FCA grants and finance staff.
Strenghten awareness of the Network among key funding partners
Contact prospective funding partners and sources and follow up with appropriate actions such as helping to prepare senior staff for prospective meetings through written and/or oral briefings as well as scheduling and attending meetings and presentations.
Envision and steer new and creative resource mobilization initiatives, including programme partnerships, joint applications and the alike.
Develop fundraising material based on the Network Strategy and Programme in collaboration with the Communication Officer.
Build and maintain ongoing relationships with donors and funding partners.
Competence, experience, skills, knowledge needed
Master’s degree from relevant fields
Minimum of three (3) years of donor relations experience in a fast-paced, challenging work environment.
Extensive experience with grant writing and reporting and consortium-building.
Proven track record of 6 –figure grants/donations.
Experience with major donors, foundation, corporate and/or public sector giving is essential.
Strong knowledge of potential donors’ and funding partners’ interests, priorities and compliance mechanisms and proven track record in raising funds from institutional and private donors.
Strong track record in leading project development including: facilitating internal proposal processes, project design, log frames, budgeting, grant management and project reporting.
Strong knowledge and experience of humanitarian/development and peace sectors is an asset.
The position is 24 months contract, with six months’ probation period, starting as soon as possible. The compensation is based on FCA Compensation System and depends on prior work experience.
