NIRAS is a multi-disciplinary engineering company with a strong footprint in Offshore Wind in Europe and Asia-Pacific. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a robust renewable energy market understanding, sound strategic mindset and very good networking skills who will work with our Offshore Wind and renewable energy practice to further our activities in the Philippines jointly with our team in Manila and Taiwan.

You have an estimated 5-10 years’ experience of working in the renewable energy sector either with project developers, utilities or related government agencies or think tanks. During this time you have demonstrated leadership and initiative in business development, developed a good understanding of renewable energy, market developments and related regulations in the Philippines and understand the main market participants and can assess and follow-up on market opportunities for renewable energy. You are keen to join a new and upcoming industry in the Philippines and want to be part of a larger team supporting Offshore Wind projects in the Philippines and potentially in the region.

The role will work from our office in Manila and report and work closely with our colleagues in Taipei, Taiwan as well as in the United Kingdom and Denmark.

What you will be doing
The BDM is expected to take a lead, manage and coordinate the pursuit of new opportunities and submission of high quality and successful bids in close cooperation with the broader NIRAS team in the renewable energy sector. To accomplish this, responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Renewable Energy Market Analysis Philippines
Develop sales strategies for the Philippines market
Develop and manage sales pipeline
Engaging with potential clients for Environment and Consenting and Engineering Works
Find and qualify potential suppliers and or partners to deliver projects in the Philippines
Writing high quality proposals in English
Support Sales Processes
Represent NIRAS in networking functions and forums
Marketing Support (Trade Fairs, Forums or other channels)

What we are looking for
For this position, you should ideally have more than 5 years of work experience in the renewable energy or power sector.

Master in Social Sciences, Engineering or Economics
Sales and/or marketing experience
Strong networking skills
Ability to work in international teams across different disciplines
Ability to work in a complex and fast moving working environment
Excellent written and oral English language skills; fluency in Tagalog or another regional language will be considered an asset
Good command of English
Readiness to travel within the Philippines and within Asia

Following are considered a plus:

Experience working in Onshore Wind
Experience in working in energy related projects in the Overseas Donor market
Experience working for an Engineering or Environmental Consultancy
Command of another Asian Language at fluent level, e.g. Mandarin, Japanese or Vietnamese
Overseas work or studies
