Sayara International is hiring an experienced Research Analyst to join its Eastern Europe team. This is a permanent, full-time position, with opportunities for remote working (Europe preferred). Position Description:
Sayara International is hiring an experienced Research Analyst to join our Eastern Europe team in support of ongoing activities in Ukraine. This role requires advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, a sound understanding of the socio-political dynamics in Ukraine, and awareness of national and regional information ecosystems. This role is full time, with opportunities for remote working (Europe preferred). Sayara is currently conducting rapid-response research and communications projects in Ukraine. Ideally, the Research Analyst is able to start within two to three weeks (even at reduced capacity at the beginning).
The Research Analyst will report to the Head of Delivery - Eastern Europe.
The Research Analyst will contribute to the work Sayara does to build positive change in societies that most need it. You will be working as part of a welcoming and diverse international team of experienced professionals.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Conduct social media monitoring and analysis.
Develop methodological approaches in collaboration with the project teams (methods and strategies to capture, store, and manage data and information).
Develop quantitative and qualitative research instruments (e.g. focus group discussion and key informant interview guides, survey questionnaires, social media monitoring tools).
Interpret data, demonstrate learnings, and explain their value to internal and external stakeholders through charts, infographics, written reports, and presentations.
Develop analytical reports.
Work closely with technology and data collection suppliers; implement quality control protocols.
Work closely with internal and external teams, partners, and other stakeholders.
Ensure the effective management, protection, and governance of data.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree, in social science, statistics, political science, international relations, international development, or a related field. Master’s degree is considered a plus.
5+ years of relevant professional experience.
Must be skilled in social media analysis.
Experience conducting (social) media monitoring and analysis highly desired
SPSS or similar software knowledge considered a plus.
Advanced qualitative analysis skills required .
Fluency in spoken and written Ukrainian, Russian and English.
Ability to work independently, remotely, as part of a global team, and with minimal supervision.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize under pressure to meet tight deadlines consistently.
Ability to work long hours when needed and to take on tasks that may be outside these Terms of Reference.
Strong commitment to high quality work and integrity in all interactions.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to engage appropriately with various audiences and support and coordinate the efforts of other professionals to effectively meet objectives in a timely manner.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
The right to work in the country where you are based (must have this before applying – we do not provide work visas for this position).
Location:
Europe time zone required (GMT to GMT+4). Occasional travel may be required.
Salary:
Monthly gross salary of 1800-2200 GBP, negotiable according to experience.
Job Type:
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), Monday-Friday.
Duration:
The Research Analyst will be offered a one (1) year Employment Contract, with a four (4) month probation period and the option for renewal, based on the discretion of and mutual agreement between Sayara and the Research Analyst.
