LANDT is a Berlin-based international development finance consulting and credit guarantee fund management company focused on developing micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSMEs) access to finance through designing, establishing, consulting, and managing credit guarantee schemes (CGSs) in challenging environments. Position:

This short-term position is focused on driving LANDT’s initiative on developing a concept for a credit guarantee scheme in Ukraine. The concept will be developed by undertaking thorough research on the current state of the Ukrainian banking sector as well as the MSME sector, while integrating the specific needs that have emerged due to the present war situation. The main recipient of this concept paper will be the international donor community, Ukraine authorities and other development agencies that are focusing on the reconstruction of Ukraine post-war.

Your Tasks:

• Conducting secondary research on the Ukrainian financial sector and the MSME landscape
• Liaising with a Ukrainian consulting firm (counterpart of LANDT) in gathering on-ground market insights
• Conducting interviews with selected financial institutions and other stakeholders in Ukraine
• Consolidating the primary and secondary research into a fact-finding document that serves as the basis for the concept paper
• Work alongside LANDT’s CGSs experts in developing a rationale for a CGS-oriented donor intervention in Ukraine
• Take the lead in drafting the concept paper that is based on market intelligence gathered through research and LANDT’s experience in designing CGS interventions

Your Profile:

• Young professional or a master’s student with background preferably in economics, finance, business administration, public policy, or other related fields.
• Strong research capabilities
• Experience in writing research papers, research articles, policy memos, etc.
• Excellent Ukrainian and/or Russian language skills and very good command of English language.
• Ukrainian national residing in Ukraine or abroad. If abroad, residing in Berlin, Germany is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Contacts and network in the Ukrainian banking sector would be useful but not mandatory.
• Independent, reliable, with high attention to detail and quality.
