Description

Objective:

  • Contribute to the consolidation and expansion of the portfolio of Ayuda en Acción funded by the European Union and other key international donors, through early identification of opportunities, business intelligence, proposal drafting, and positioning before donors.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Institutional Fundraising Manager, design, develop and follow up on funding strategies, both at the global level and within Ayuda en Acción country and regional programs.
  • Coordinate with geographical divisions, sectoral specialists, financial management officers and country office teams on all necessary actions to ensure an adequate management of the opportunity cycle (from early identification to submission to the donor).
  • Design and lead the implementation of outreach and positioning strategy towards European and international donors, both at the HQ/global level as well as at the country level. This strategy should have a proactive approach towards the donor, and will involve the coordination of different areas of the organization such as Country Offices, Advocacy, Marketing and Communication, and sectoral specialists.
  • Provide strategic, technical and economic advice to develop funding strategies for National and Regional Programs, including business intelligence, positioning actions, and staff capacity building.
  • Ensure the quality and updating of pipeline information, in order to plan the work of the teams and follow up on the organization’s KPIs.
  • Provide high-level strategic monitoring of ongoing projects to ensure consistency in positioning efforts.
  • As appropriate, support specific countries in the design, implementation and monitoring of their financing plans or strategies.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of the country teams, and propose actions to address them, particularly in-house training and knowledge sharing initiatives.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Social Work or related fields.
  • Master's degree in Development Cooperation is desirable.
  • Complementary training related to Project Design would be an asset.
  • At least 5 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Highly proficient in logical framework methodology and project cycle.
  • Knowledge of project budgeting.
  • Knowledge of development cooperation and humanitarian aid policies and instruments, especially at the European Union level. Work experience in Brussels would be an asset.
