About Trust Consultancy and Development

Trust Consultancy and Development is an independent research and third-party monitoring and evaluation (M&E) consultancy based in Gaziantep, Turkey, with two sister-companies, one in Islamabad, Pakistan and one in Erbil, Iraq. About the Position

Trust Consultancy is looking for motivated and skilled Project Officer(s) to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. This is a remote position. Occasional travel may be required, with an anticipated frequency of once a year, to attend team meetings. As a remote and paid Project Officer within the Third-Party Monitoring department, this role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining valuable insights into the humanitarian and development sectors. Your responsibilities will involve assisting the project manager in managing, coordinating, and monitoring the implementation of assigned projects’ deliverables. You will have the chance to closely engage with Trust's operations and projects, particularly in the MENA region. This role is ideal suited for candidates with a keen interest in Turkey, Syria, Iraq/Kurdistan region, culture, and politics. Tasks and Responsibilities

The Project Officer will be involved in some or all of the following tasks, depending on capacities and projects we have in Trust at the time, which will be discussed and agreed upon with their line managers. Some of the tasks can include:

Project Management

  • Collaborate with the evaluation team as a supporting evaluator, contributing to various project stages.
  • Assist in conducting research and gathering relevant data to inform evaluation processes.
  • Analyze and interpret data, providing valuable insights and recommendations to improve project outcomes.
  • Participate in meetings with clients to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Engage in effective communication with clients to provide updates on project progress and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of evaluation tools and methodologies.
  • Assist in the preparation of inception reports, ensuring they align with project objectives and requirements.
  • Review and revise project outputs based on client feedback and evaluation findings.
  • Ensure the incorporation of recommendations to enhance the quality and relevance of outputs.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis using appropriate techniques and tools.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Participate in presentations to clients, conveying evaluation results and recommendations effectively.
  • Provide guidance and support to the TPM team within your areas of expertise.
  • Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment to optimize project outcomes.
  • Conduct webinars as needed and agreed upon, sharing insights and expertise with relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within the organization to enhance the overall understanding of evaluation processes.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position should:

  1. Master’s degree in Humanitarian Action, International Relations, Political Science, International Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three to four years of relevant professional experience.
  2. Proven or demonstrated experience in project, programming development, monitoring and evaluation is an advantage.
  3. Strong qualitative and/or quantitative analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data to derive actionable recommendations. Knowledge of SPSS, Strata or R is an advantage
  4. Knowledge of Canva, Zoom, Slack, Teams, Trello, SmartSuite is an advantage
  5. High proficiency of Microsoft Word is a requirement
  6. Good writing and reporting skills
  7. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  8. High degree of judgment, independency and initiative, ability to work with a high degree of independence within assigned areas
  9. Have abilities to manage diverse activities and meet deadlines.
  10. For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of Arabic and/or Turkish is an advantage.
  11. Knowledge/experience in the Middle Eastern region is an asset.
