Overall purpose of the position

The Regional HR Manager plays a vital role in overseeing and managing HR operational activities in Geneva and other regions/departments. With a focus on effective HR practices, s/he ensures seamless recruitment, performance appraisals, compensation reviews, and training needs analysis. Working closely with country and project managers, the HR Manager actively coordinates with the HR director and the global HR team, to align HR initiatives and activities with the organization's overarching goals and objectives by fostering collaboration. The HR Manager leads and manages a dedicated regional HR team, ensuring a cohesive and efficient approach to human resources.

Duties and responsibilities

HR Operations Management

  • Oversee and execute HR operational activities in coordination with the regional HR team ensuring compliance with HD policies, local labour laws, and regulations;
  • Work closely with country / project managers and Regional Directors to select and manage Employer of Record relationships; follow-up on employees registration and monthly formalities;
  • Collaborate with HR focal points on HR administration matters.

Recruitment:

  • Partner with hiring managers to gain understanding of their recruitment needs and craft tailored job descriptions and engaging job ads;
  • Spearhead the end to end recruitment and selection process, in alignment with HD values and internal priorities;
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience and Keep track of recruiting metrics.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Conduct annual compensation reviews in coordination with the HR director;
  • Coordinate with the HR Analyst – C&B to analyse market trends and benchmarking in relevant countries to ensure competitive compensation packages;
  • Provide recommendations on salary adjustments and promotions, and maintain the ability of the organisation to attract and retain talent, in coordination with operational managers.

Learning & Development:

  • Work closely with managers to facilitate the performance appraisal process, providing guidance and support;
  • Coordination and follow-up on employee’s annual appraisal reports; consolidation of recommendations and finalise with operational managers and HR Director;
  • Partner with operational managers to identify training needs and performance improvement areas and develop appropriate action plans;
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and make recommendations for improvements.

Management of employee work cycle:

  • Manage employee relations for the relevant regions and departments, ensuring a harmonious working environment;
  • Handle the comprehensive application of relocation support and its associated benefits, wherever applicable, while also ensuring the efficient tracking and related data management;
  • Manage employee separations including coordination of disciplinary processes, terminations and exit interviews for the relevant regions and departments, ensuring a smooth transition for all parties involved;
  • Monitor monthly KPIs for the relevant regions and departments.

Team Management:

  • Manage and mentor the regional HR team, composed of an HR specialist, handling the HR administration, as well as an HR associate;
  • Provide guidance, support, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance;
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the HR team.

Technical competencies/knowledge needed for the position (including languages):

  • Proven experience in HR management, including expertise in HR operations, recruitment, performance management, compensation, and training in Switzerland and other countries;
  • Solid understanding of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices;
  • Discretion in the management of sensitive information;
  • Proactive, organised and entrepreneurial;
  • Capable of multi-tasking and of meeting tight deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a great sense of team spirit;
  • Customer-focused with capacity to identify and resolve issues;
  • Excellent command of English and French;
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. Hubdrive) would be a plus.
