Description

Together with E Co’s teams, you will take part in developing bid proposals for market creation and transformation projects and programmes related to climate change mitigation and adaptation, and energy access in developing/emerging economies on behalf of our clients.

This position ideally would be based in our offices in London or Madrid, where our Bid Development Manager currently resides, but a potential other location can be considered for the right candidate.

You will contribute to the development of bids by taking part in the process of opportunity management and proposal development from the identification of opportunities to the eventual submission of the proposal to the client.

T
he tasks include:

Opportunity management
- scanning opportunities and managing the opportunity screening process

Proposal preparation
- analysis of tender documentation
- contribute to bid strategy - methodology, team, partnership
- conduct the necessary research, including background searches and literature reviews on a broad range of subjects related to sustainable energy and climate change
- analyse project staffing requirements and team mapping
- search, identify, and recruit external consultants and partners in line with the agreed strategy
- work on the assignment methodology in line with proposal requirements and agreed strategy
- support the identification of costs for the preparation of the financial proposal
- maintain records on opportunities and upon award, ensure the preparation of project references in line with the proposal
- collation of administrative documentation

Bid coordination and management
- lead and manage the bid development process for individual bids
- coordinate inputs from co-workers and external contractors (international and local consultants) to deliver their contributions on time and consistent with our quality standards
- schedule and lead bid development progress meetings with the bid team
- attend and contribute to opportunity management meetings to provide progress updates
- coordinate with marketing to align marketing campaigns with bid strategy
- coordinate with marketing in the development of graphics, illustrations, case studies and customised presentations for the purposes of enhancing our proposals and selling our services

Wider initiatives
- contribute to E Co’s strategic initiatives as defined through internal strategy meetings
- support knowledge capture and management

Essential requirements

- Relevant experience in preparing large, complex bids for public-sector procurement opportunities
- Strong oral and written English communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail
- An MS Word, Excel / Google Doc, Sheets expert
- Highly conversant with Internet and office applications
- Excellent interpersonal skills, empathetic and open
- Effective time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet challenging deadlines while delivering work to a high standard
- Sound knowledge and experience of energy access and/or climate mitigation/resilience/development sectors
- Postgraduate degree and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience
- Track record of awarded projects
- Fluency in French, Spanish or Portuguese would be an advantage
