Living Water International exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience “living water” – the gospel of Jesus Christ – which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Living Water is providing safe drinking water, Christian witness, sanitation and health education to communities in 9 countries across Africa. Living Water Africa Regional Office is pleased to announce the following vacancy:

REGIONAL INTERNAL AUDITOR FOR AFRICA

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a yearly annual audit plan to perform risk-based integrated audits (RBIAs).
  • Actively engage with senior management staff within the Country Offices in order to gain a good understanding of their business and ensure the efficient execution of the audit. Perform digital analytics, collaboration, tending as means to arrive at audit evidence to support audit findings and recommendations.
  • Conduct compliance reviews of organization records to ensure compliance with Government statutory requirements in areas including but not limited to taxation laws, employment law and any other applicable local requirements.
  • Review follow up evidence of implementation of audit findings as per auditee implementation plan to ensure audit matters arising are fully resolved.
  • Perform programmatic/financial and human resource audit to validate Living Water quality standards are being maintained and help correct the any errors
  • Evaluate the efficacy of risk management procedures that are currently in place.
  • Make recommendations on how to improve internal controls and governance processes in all Africa Countries
  • Perform, document and report to the Regional Vice President and Chief Finance Officer audit findings, incident reporting, risk aversion and management intervention recommendations.
  • Perform all country audit reviews annually.
  • Investigate and manage fraud related incidents outside of the internal audit function with open communication between Regional Vice President and the Chief Finance Officer.
  • Lead and manage the LWI audit process to include Africa operations as well as Affiliates and Partners; liaise with external auditors.·
  • Ensure GAAP best practice and procedures through ongoing testing.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Certified in or working towards becoming a Certified Internal Auditor
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience of which 3 are in Internal Audit and in Risk based Auditing.
  • Excellent Oral and written multicultural communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Builds relationships and works well cross functionally.
  • Business Acumen with Customer-focused orientation
  • Proficient in accounting software, preferably QuickBooks and Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to create annual audit plans.
  • Willing to travel both regionally and internationally.
