Support to the Establishment of the Natura 2000 Network for Montenegro - Key expert 2: Habitat expert

Input

This expert will be responsible for managing and leading part of Activity 2, 4 and 5 as well as assisting in implementation of Activity 1, 4, 6 and 7.

Qualifications and skills

-        Minimum University level education, preferably in biology, forestry or ecology;

-        Good knowledge of the Habitats Directive and Habitats from Annex I of the Directive relevant for Mediterranean and/or Alpine bio-geographical region of Western Balkans ;

-        Fluency in written and spoken English;

-        Full computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, GIS as a matter of minimum.

General professional experience

-        At least 10 years of professional experience in the field of nature protection;

Specific professional experience

-        At least 2 years of experience with coordination of mapping and habitats data gathering and processing for Natura 2000 preparation with local expertise in Montenegro

-        Experience in field work.

Advantages

-       Knowledge of habitat classification systems, their compatibility with Natura 2000 classification and familiarity with Draft of Montenegrin Catalogue of Habitats

-        Familiarity with EU procedures for pSCI proposing, assessment and adopting at the EU level

-        Familiarity with the establishment of the Emerald network of the Bern convention is an asset

-        Knowledge of GIS methodology and data processing

-        Scientific work on habitats
