Species coordination expert
Qualifications and skills
- Minimum University level education, preferably in biology or ecology;
- Good knowledge of the Habitats Directive especially Species from Annex II of Habitat Directive;
- Fluency in written and spoken English;
- Full computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point as a matter of minimum.
General professional experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of nature protection, preferably in species conservation;
Specific professional experience
- At least 2 years of experience with coordination of mapping and/or species data gathering for Natura 2000 preparation and local expertise;
- At least 3 years of experience with data management for Natura 2000 preparation, all after the year 2000.
- Experience in field work.
Advantages
- Knowledge of species classification systems, their compatibility with Natura 2000 classification and draft species reference lists for Montenegro;
- Familiarity with EU procedures for pSCI proposing, assessment and adopting at the EU level
- Familiarity with the establishment of the Emerald network of the Bern convention is an asset
- Knowledge of GIS.
