About the role

The Information Management Assistant, under the supervision of the MEAL department, plays a critical role in data collection, management, and reporting. This position supports the organization in maintaining accurate and up-to-date data, enabling evidence-based decision-making and improving program effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

1. Data Collection and Entry: Assist in the collection and entry of data related to program activities, beneficiaries, and project indicators. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data collected.
2. Data Management: Organize and maintain program data, ensuring it is stored securely and can be easily accessed when needed. Regularly update databases and information systems.
3. Data Analysis: Assist in basic data analysis tasks, such as generating reports and data visualization. Contribute to the preparation of routine data reports for internal and external stakeholders.
4. Quality Assurance: Participate in data quality assessments and validation exercises. Identify and report data quality issues to the MEAL department.
5. Documentation: Maintain documentation related to data collection and management processes. Archive data as per organization's data retention policies.
6. Training and Support: Provide training and support to field staff on data collection tools and methods. Assist in resolving data-related issues and questions from field teams.
7. Reporting: Contribute to the generation of regular and ad-hoc reports based on program data. Collaborate with the MEAL department to ensure data is presented accurately and effectively.
8. Data Security: Maintain data security and confidentiality, adhering to data protection and privacy protocols.
9. Collaboration: Work closely with the MEAL department and other relevant departments to ensure data needs are met. Support in the integration of data into program planning and decision-making.

Position Requirements

• Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, or another related field
• 1 - 2 years experience in MEAL is preferable.
• Minimum of one year in SQL Server, MySQL
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand.
• Excellent data handling skills (classification, categorizing, tabulation etc.) and demonstrates diligence in data management and analysis.
• Good knowledge of information presentation techniques (graphing, charting, tabling etc.) and interpreting them.
• The ability to work on one of the data analysis programs (SPSS, STATA or Excel and Power Bi)
• Strong level of computer skills (Windows, MS Office, etc.) and ideally an understanding of data and database management.
• Native in Arabic & Intermediate level in English skills, oral and written.
