Regional Programme Manager (Asia)

FCA is seeking a Regional Programme Manager for its Network Asia Team based in Thailand. The Regional Program Manager oversees, develops and manages Network’s program, fundraising efforts, operations and partnerships in Asia. The person acts also as a supervisor for staff working for the Network Asia team in FCA Thailand office.

The regional program of the Network in Asia follows the 2020-2025 strategy of the Network and is collaboratively designed together with Network Asia Working Group. It includes projects and activities such as coordination of the Asia Working Group and country focused strategic workshops, capacity building and small grant support to peacemakers across Asia, research/analysis, communications and advocacy efforts across the region.

The Regional Program Manager demonstrates advanced knowledge, understanding and capacities to work on peacebuilding in South and Southeast Asia and experience in fundraising and funding proposal development, including understanding of forming consortium projects and working with institutional donors.

The Regional Program Manager ensures that the relevant legal, donor and internal requirements related to the projects and activities of the Program are met and coordinates relations and activities of the partners and stakeholders.

Areas of responsibility include:

• Lead the Network program in Asia and ensure quality implementation of projects and activities as part of the programme
• Lead fundraising efforts and donor engagement, including consortium and proposal developments, in Asia
• Manage key activities of the Asia programme such as the small grants and its overall monitoring, strategic workshops and learning exchanges and advocacy efforts
• Coordinate the Network Asia Working Group, its annual planning, implementation of events/activities and communication efforts (incl. monthly newsletter and social media channels)
• Represent the Network in key activity, donor and partner meetings and conferences in Asia region
• Act as a focal point for international and national partners in the region, such as UN agencies, Embassies and Delegations, national governments and for new international and national level partnerships
• Lead the regional team and supervising staff based in FCA Thailand office
• Manage the FCA Thailand office, regional operations and security and safety aspects in collaboration with other relevant FCA staff

Competence and Personal Requirements:

• Master Degree in international relations, development studies, political studies, human rights or other relevant discipline
• At least 5 years related professional experience on peacebuilding, preferably with previous manager level experience
• Previous experience in in programme and project management and development, incl. reporting, MEAL, finance and administration of programme and projects. Previous experience in managing small grants to grassroots actors is considered an asset
• Experience in successful fundraising and funding proposal development in the area of human rights, peace and/or development, including understanding of forming consortium projects and working with institutional donors
• Experience in managing team in international settings
• Thematic expertise and experience in peacebuilding and conflict transformation and working in conflict-torn environments in Asia
• Fluent in oral and written English, working knowledge of Finnish or Thai is an asset
• Excellent communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills and experience in working in multi-cultural environment and leading multistakeholder collaborations
• Proven problem solving skills and strategic planning capability with creativity
• Good attention to detail and numerate, sound organizational skills and initiative to proactively manage work
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

The fixed-term contract for this position will be made for one year with six months’ probation period, starting 1st of January 2024 or as soon as possible. The position is based in Bangkok. The compensation is based on FCA salary scale and the candidate’s level of experience.
