Chief Resident Engineer Wastewater Management (f/m/d) India
For ongoing and future international cooperation projects GITEC-IGIP GmbH is looking for an international Chief Resident Engineer with profound knowledge of urban drainage systems and/or wastewater management, and strong experience in construction supervision and implementation activities using FIDIC contracts.

Core Responsibilities
Supervision of Contractor’s activities (work schedule, designs, construction works, reports and other specifications)
Monitoring of construction and implementation activities according to FIDIC / World Bank based DBO contracts
Supervise and give guidance to resident engineers and site engineers
Reporting as per client/donor requirements (preparation and submission of regular progress reports)
Ensure Environmental, Social, Health, and Safety Management (ESHS) standards are applied by the contractor
Effective complaint handling and follow-up
Qualifications and Skills Required
Master’s in civil engineering or similar degree
Several years of proven international experience (outside country of origin) as Chief Resident Engineer
At least 15 years of experience in construction supervision
At least 10 years of experience as Chief Resident Engineer in construction supervision in wastewater collection, treatment and disposal systems (water supply or other urban infrastructure will be a lower rated option)
Expert knowledge on administration of FIDIC based contracts (yellow book / gold book) or World Bank based DBO contracts from both the contractual side and the construction supervision side
Sound experience in working in teams composed of international and national experts
In-depth experience in dealing with variation orders, claim management and settlement of disputes
Work experience in the Indian sub-continent is preferable
Required fluency in English, Hindi is considered a strong asset
Worked in at least 5 projects of similar nature with assignments longer than 12 months
Duration of Project Assignments
We are looking for experts with the above profile for various projects as of January 2024 with an average anticipated duration of at least 12 months.
