Position Description:

Social Impact is seeking a full-time Senior Associate, People & Culture (P&C), responsible for a wide range of People operations tasks including onboarding & offboarding, benefits administration, pay actions, talent acquisition support, performance management, records, and systems maintenance learning & staff development. 

This is a hands-on role that requires an understanding of people and human resource operations. The Senior Associate P&C will work across all levels of the organization and will report directly to the Senior Manager, People & Culture, and part of the People & Culture Division.  

The Senior Associate position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and pro-active individual who cares and understands the value of the employee experience and is always looking for ways to improve and help make Social Impact a great place to work! 

 **Please Note: This position responsibilities entail occasional visits to SI’s office in Arlington, VA. Candidates located in the DMV area will be prioritized. **  

 Responsibilities: 

  • On-boarding/Off-boarding:
    • Organize and manage on-boarding including new employee orientation and training programs.
    • Manage the employee termination process according to internal policies and procedures.
    • Support the P&C Assistant in processing and ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Manage the administration of employee benefits including coordination of the open enrollment process, prepare and submit monthly HSA submissions and ongoing management of COBRA benefit.
    • Review and distribute annual employee notices and benefits reporting requirements.
    • Manage short/long term disability and FMLA processes, including recordkeeping & eligibility tracking. 
    • Work with our benefit insurance broker to facilitate staff inquiries and carrier support.
  • People Information Systems:
    • Ensure employee data and files are accurate and complete and maintain integrity of the people management systems of record.
    • Responsible for reporting and routine data sourcing and analysis for projects and divisions.
    • Assist with implementation or upgrading of new People systems as needed (performance management, recruitment, learning management, onboarding).
  • Payroll Administration:
    • Processing payroll action forms
    • Support and liaise with the finance and payroll teams to ensure smooth payroll and people administration.
  • Performance Management:
    • Manage a smooth implementation of the performance appraisal process, including the 90-day review, Goal setting, Mid-year review and Annual Review.
    • Manage electronic record keeping for performance management files, ensuring that files and permissions are accurate.
    • Assist the VP of PC & Senior P&C Manager with the administration of the annual performance review process. 
  • Learning & Development:
    • Mentorship & Internship Programs: Manage the administration and Implementation of these programs, including all materials, check-ins, and coordination with management teams.
    • Mange and facilitate new hire orientations and other divisional orientations as needed including scheduling and continuous improvement of program.
    • Serve as the divisional point of contact for any professional development (PD) inquiries. Encourage employee use of funds and report on usage. Review and approve all PD requests through SCORE system.
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    • Compile quarterly metrics and data for all staff, including demographic data, training attendance.
    • Assist in compliance reporting, including Affirmative Action Plan, Workers Comp, VETS 4212, and EEO.
  • 401K Administration:
    • Manage 401k enrollments, terminations, and rollovers.
    • Coordinate with the 401K Vendor for any updates, inquiries, and staff requests.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management:
    • Assist in talent acquisition and talent management processes ensuring a seamless candidate recruit and new hire experience.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging:
    • Assist with the integration of diversity, equity, inclusion transparency, and accessibility in P&C programs and processes.

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in human resources, business management or related discipline. 
  • Minimum of four years prior experience in relevant People/Talent/HR administration tasks and responsibilities. 
  • Experience maintaining HRIS platforms and applicant tracking systems. 
  • Ability to work at all levels of an organization with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong analytical skills, including reporting and synthesizing data, excellent customer service skills including organizing, prioritizing, and tracking of a wide range of administrative tasks.  
  • Exposure to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging initiatives or programs.  
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills. 
  • Highly motivated, adaptable and passionate about people work. 
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint. 
  • A commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive work and learning environment. 
  • HR Certifications PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP etc. is advantageous.
