Economic Growth Specialist – Benin

Blumont serves underserved populations, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of conflict, and tackles development challenges through programming tailored to local contexts and needs in order to empower communities from relief and recovery to sustainable resilience. 

Job Description: 

Blumont is looking to identify an Economic Growth Specialist for future work in Benin. 

The Economic Growth Specialist will provide technical assistance to implement vocational training, increase access to livelihoods, and build the capacity of local SMEs. S/he will also support the Chief of Party in the design, management, implementation and quality assurance of the project.

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Master’s degree in development economics, finance, business or a relevant social science, or in a related field 

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience working as a business development services advisor, preferably in the northern region 

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating access to capital markets with a combination of project preparation and investment feasibility assessments, financial and economic analysis, risk analysis, or financial structuring, with a solid understanding of key challenges associated with such transactions 

  • Demonstrated experience working with private enterprises (micro, small, and medium) in West Africa 

  • Knowledge of business environment in Benin, specifically in the North, is preferred 

  • Previous experience working with underserved populations, such as youth and women, is preferred 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in French is required, English is preferred
