Description

The objective of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) in Cambodia is to promote sustainable and inclusive agricultural development, foresty management and fisheries management to contribute to food security, poverty reduction and economic growth.

Advisory services at community level are being discussed. To this end, the government plans to hire 1,600 so-called Commune Extension Workers (CEWs). These are to work closely with the target farmers and agricultural cooperatives. Once the current pilot phase has been completed, at least one CEW will be recruited for each municipality nationwide from 2024.



Your tasks will involve:
  • Support planning processes, budgeting and implementation of the reform processes for the national advisory services
  • Monitoring, reporting and evaluation 
  • Providing professional advice and technical input for stakeholders at national and municipal level
  • Moderation of networking with relevant stakeholders and partners to utilize learning experiences
  • Integration of relevant cross-cutting issues (gender equality, nutrition-sensitive agriculture and climate-smart farming systems) into the reformed advisory services


Your profile:
  • At least a master*s degree in institutional development, agricultural extension and strategic planning and management or similar 
  • profound general professional experience related to strategic plannig and development in agriculture extension
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in strategic planning and operational guidelines development 
  • Strong experience in stakeholder management  including governmental organization and private sectors in rural extension
  • Experience in inclusive value chain development in agriculture facing climate change challenges
  • Business fluent in English
