We are a Consultancy Firm (www.politecnica.it) seeking, for a works supervision tender: an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Supervision Team for a hospital construction project (20.000 sq.mts, 140 beds) in a Caribbean Island (West Indies). The successful candidate will oversee the cost management and financial oversight of the hospital project on behalf of the Employer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying for buildings and construction projects. The Expert will respond to the Consultant's Team Leader. Working language: English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management and Financial Expertise: Specialize in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management for the project. Ensure all financial activities align with the project's objectives.
- Budget Oversight and Contractor Payment Certification: Monitor and manage project costs, liaising closely with contractors to adhere to the budget. Validate work completion against agreed costs, adjust budgets as necessary, and certify interim payments for contractors.
- Detailed Financial Reporting and Collaborative Coordination: Report to the Team Leader with regular financial updates. Collaborate with key team members, providing insights into cost implications of design and construction decisions.
A.Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Preferably registered with a relevant professional body.
B.Specific Experience:
- 12 years general experience in building and civil engineering projects.
C.General Experience:
- Involvement in at least two large construction projects of similar size and complexity within the last 7 years.
- Proficiency in SMM7 or later versions.
Contract Terms:
- Freelance contract with benefits package and medical insurance.
- Project duration: 36 months.
- Full-time, on-site role in the Capital of the Island with annual roundtrips home.
