Project Description:  
This project aims to evaluate the impact of the changing climate trends on the water characteristics of lake, wetlands and coastal ecosystems. The principal aim is to assess coastal risks for society, economy and environment due to land loss, cultural services loss and human displacement due to sea level rise and to develop best possible risk assessments and adaptation strategies for vulnerable areas in Türkiye. Within the project sea-level of Türkiye's coasts of the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea (excluding islands) will be modelled, water budgets and water quality projections for three lakes/wetlands will be carried out, assessment indicators will be identified, risk analysis and assessments will be made for land loss and for fresh water, climate adaptation strategies and measures for lakes, wetlands and coastal areas will be defined, nature-based solutions will be identified.

Job Description:    
Within the framework of the implementation of the project, the Team Leader will have as main functions to provide technical assistance to the Beneficiary (Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change) in the management, planning, implementation, supervision and monitoring of the project and its components, ensuring the application of EU standards and procedures.
The main tasks assigned to the team leader are (not exhaustive list):
a)    Overall responsibility for the management of the project with the support of the Project Accountant and (potentially) of KE2;
b)    Strategic planning and programming of the activities;
c)    Supporting and monitor the implementation of the various activities;
d)    Ensure quality reporting of project achievements and documenting best practices and lessons learnt in the course of implementation.
e)    Maintain close cooperation with the various actors involved in the project, including ministries and other institutions, universities, local stakeholders, and the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye;
f)    Preparation of the Steering Committee meetings.
General Qualifications:    
Qualifications and skills
•    University degree, with at least a postgraduate degree in areas relevant to the job (i.e. Coastal & Marine Environmental Science, Coastal Engineering, or equivalent) attested by diploma;
•    Fluency in English (C1 Level); Turkish language will be an asset
General professional experience
•    At least 10 years of general professional experience as team leader, managing technical assistance programs / projects;
Specific professional experience
•    At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of climate change impacts in coastal areas.
•    At least 5 years of experience working with EU procedures (project cycle management, reporting, logical framework, etc.)
•    Working experience in the Mediterranean and Türkiye will be an asset.
