NTU International A/S has been shortlisted for the EU-funded EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package – Seafarers Project. The project aims to enhance transport connectivity and technical cooperation between the EU and ASEAN, with a focus on safety, digital solutions, and social and environmental sustainability. The project particularly aims to improve maritime safety standards and labor conditions in the Philippines and Indonesia, with broader implications for the ASEAN region, contributing to global maritime safety.

Position Overview:

We are actively seeking to create a team of non-key experts for this project, including both Senior and Junior Experts.

Specific Objectives/Components of the Project:

  • Implementation and oversight of the requirements of the STCW Convention regarding minimum education, training and certification requirements in the Philippines.
  • Implementation and oversight of the requirements of the STCW Convention regarding minimum education, training and certification requirements in Indonesia.
  • Implementation and enforcement of the requirements of the MLC, 2006 regarding living and working conditions for seafarers in the Philippines and Indonesia.
  • Maritime programmes and training courses in the Philippines and Indonesia include new areas of education such as: “green transition”, “sustainability”, “women’s empowerment”, “automation” and “digitalisation”.

Senior Experts:

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in relevant fields, with at least 3 years of local expertise related to the project.
  • At least a university degree in a discipline related to maritime transport, or equivalent relevant professional experience of preferably minimum 7 years.

Junior Experts:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant fields, with local expertise considered an asset.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in a discipline relevant to the project, or equivalent relevant professional experience of preferably minimum 3 years.
