Team Leader: Last Mile Electrification Support Project: Pre-/ Feasibility Study and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment

NTU is preparing a proposal for an EU-cofounded project in Uganda, Last Mile Electrification Support project: Pre-/ Feasibility Study and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment.

Requested profile:  Team leader

Qualifications:

•  B.Sc. in electrical or electromechanical Engineering; registered Engineer with valid certificate;
• Additional requirements (i.e. not essential requirements but preferred): a relevant postgraduate qualification in an energy related field would be preferred;

General professional experience:

• Minimum 12 years of experience in the electricity sector, including at least 5 years (i.e. a total of 60 full-time-equivalent months) in rural electrification planning and design.

Specific professional experience:

•        At least 2 successful experiences in a technical position (i.e., not a management/team leader position) related to preliminary or detailed design and preparation of tender documents for rural electrification projects (minimum), out of which:

ü  At least 1 successful experience in the past 5 years related to mini-grids (minimum)

ü  At least 1 successful experience as Team Leader, or Resident Project Manager, or equivalent, to manage service contract of similar nature, size and complexity (minimum)

ü  Experience in managing service contracts financed by a donor or a development bank (preferred)

Language and other Skills:

·       Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing (minimum).
