Description

SGS Nederland B.V. is looking for a Local Project Coordination and Implementation Support expert to add to the team for a project in Algeria's dates sector. The long-term goals of the project are to make the Algerian dates sector more resilient and adaptable to climate change impact and to stimulate entry to the EU market.

The total project duration is minimum 1 year and maximum 5 years.

The expert must live in Algeria.

Role:

  • Support other experts from the team.
  • Maintaining regular communication with sector stakeholders to foster motivation and engagement and monitor progress.
  • Providing follow-up coaching to SMEs and other sector stakeholders as needed.
  • Offering research support to inform strategic decisions and project development.
  •  Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate their involvement and commitment to project goals.
  • Coordinating project activities and logistics on the ground in Algeria.
    • At short notice, including last-minute preparation, without requiring long-haul travel.

Requirements:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in project coordination for (semi) governmental organisations/donor organisations, including organising logistics for projects or events in Algeria during the last ten (10) years.
  • Demonstrable evidence of an active network within the Algerian dates sector, which can be leveraged for systems change initiatives
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in offering research support for project development and implementation in the dates sector or similar industries.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in delivering training and coaching support to stakeholders within the Algerian dates sector or similar industries.
  • Demonstrable experience in maintaining consistent and effective communication with multiple stakeholders to drive project goals.
  • Demonstrable experience in arranging and facilitating business-related issues in the Algerian context, as well as capabilities in logistical ‘troubleshooting’ during a project.

Language requirements:

  • French C2 level or higher.
  • English B2 level or higher.
  • Reporting language in French or English.
