Experience, qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in public health, psychology, Mental Health or related field
  • Strong background in information systems or information management
  • Special attention given to previous experience in training, capacitation and/or support/mentorship
  • Previous experience in building online platforms
  • Knowledge or training in the MHPSS MSP
  • Experience working in NGO working environment
  • Excellent organizational and planning capacity
  • Good or developing skills in word, excel, Monday.com and other reporting mechanism
  • Clear capacity or commitment to learn how to use monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning
  • Fluent in Arabic/other languages an asset (not a must)
  • English at B2 is mandatory

Goal

Responsible for implementation of and facilitation of Hub activities as a core modality of Humanity Crew actions

Humanity Crew is implementing an MHPSS preparedness model in alignment with the UNDRR Sendai Framework (2015) recommendations. Although Humanity Crew has been providing MHPSS responses on the front lines since 2015, the organization is now advancing its preparedness approach to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). They are seeking innovative MHPSS practitioners who can both perform and teach, lead and collaborate with communities, and who are passionate about being proactive problem solvers before crises occur.

Objective 1: Determine training needs and schedule training sessions for Huub managers

  • Prepare for training content of hubs based on applied lessons learnt from past practices including reviewing reports and data on responses
  • Participate in the identification, mobilization and establishment of hubs in emergency responses and preparedness hubs
  • Prepare educational material such as module summaries, videos etc.

Objective 2: Promote efficiency and competitive advantage by developing the skills of Humanity Crew and Hub personnel.

  • Conduct / support seminars, workshops, individual training sessions etc.
  • Prepare educational material such as module summaries, videos etc.
  • Support and mentor new employees
  • Keep attendance and other records of hub participation; actively lead on MEAL with regards Hub activities

Objective 3: Coordinate with MHPSS and MEAL officers in Humanity Crew to support preparedness, critical response and recovery capacity of hubs following crisis

  • Support assessment of the capacity of potential Hub members within an emergency response and facilitating the improvement of MHPSS in these groups as part of emergency response.
  • Identify specialized needs in potential hubs
  • Potentially support on emergency responses specific to Hub activation, with secondary role on program support as needed
  • Liaise with emergency response team on identified needs and outcomes of short term training, participating in the development of training and capacitation content for hubs where needed.
