• A just climate transition: both to decarbonise and to manage the human and economic impacts of a global crisis they did not cause

LOCATION : We encourage applications from candidates who are based in Sub-Saharan Africa or the MENA region. We have hubs in South Africa, Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire and would love to have someone join our teams there. (You should have the legal right to work and live in the location).

PRACTICE AREA DESCRIPTION

Our Human Development Practice works for a world where everyone can develop to their full potential. We want to support large-scale, positive, sustainable change in key areas including early childhood development, education, youth, health, nutrition and social protection. We are committed to working with those who need it the most, particularly children, women and young people in Africa and the young world. 

We help governments, our global partners, and non-state clients to improve the delivery of key human development services.  To do so, we provide services in diagnostics; regulation, governance and oversight; strategy, planning and implementation; financing and budgeting; service delivery; and monitoring and evaluation.

The education team works with Ministries of Education and clients to strengthen education systems. Our vision is that every child is able to access quality education and unlock their potential, thus unlocking vast economic and social potential. We work on improving the strategy, planning, and implementation, improving the quality and coverage of services.

We are especially interested in supporting our clients to:

• Develop sustainable education finance
• Scale impactful foundational literacy and numeracy programmes
• Improve the quality of teacher professional development
• Ensure schools are inclusive
• Innovate with Ed Tech

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This role will ensure that our team uses the best quantitative evidence to guide key education stakeholders to effect positive change. That could be looking to understand if interventions are leading to gains in learning outcomes, or if governments can better spend the budget they have. 
Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Data Analysis and Synthesis: Collect, analyse, synthesize, and report high-quality quantitative data. 
• Evidence Translation: Translate evidence and research findings into accessible formats (policy briefs, infographics, presentations) suitable for various audiences.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in education to promote the utilisation of evidence findings and to support capacity building.
• Project Management: Manage teams to successfully achieve project goals on time
• New Business Development: Proactively seek work in education and write proposals for clients
• Presentation Skills: Demonstrate excellence in presenting, this could include presenting at conferences, and crafting conference materials.
• Project Documents: Prepare clear and structured project documents and proposals with MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Work with our team: Support with the recruitment, line management and professional development of the team. Review the inputs of junior colleagues
