Evaluation Adviser

Closes: 8 July 2024

Summary

The Humanitarian Impact Institute (HII) is seeking an experienced M&E expert with experience delivering evaluations to join our full time team. You will be working across our practices delivering a variety of MERL projects for international donors and INGOs. This is a remotely based role for a dynamic and enthusiastic person with 7+ years M&E experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience in humanitarian monitoring and evaluation, either with a specialisation in one sector or cross cutting theme; or with extensive multi-sectorial experience.

The Role

This role will help deliver projects across HII’s Humanitarian Responses & Development Practice (HRDP). The HRDP delivers evaluations and large MEAL programs globally, with a focus on East Africa, MENA, south Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Most of our work is delivered in Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Ukraine and Lebanon.

HII and the HRDP practice are dedicated to increasing the impact of humanitarian and emergency responses, as well as development programs globally. This is a mid level role that would lead projects and would supervise diverse project teams in performance evaluations, learning reviews and AAP studies. Your key role will be to build lasting client relationships and deliver high quality MEAL projects for them.

The role involves:

  • Designing and delivering end-to-end MEAL projects including evaluations, TPMs and other studies such as AAP studies;
  • Conducting triangulated mixed methods analysis;
  • Data and knowledge management within each project;
  • Providing advice to teams in your practice and other practices within HII;
  • Help ensure high levels of technical competency across projects;
  • Building lasting client relationships on projects you deliver; and
  • Ensuring all M&E projects are intersectional, conflict, disability and gender sensitive.

 Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 7+ years of experience in humanitarian monitoring and evaluation;
  • The highest standards of writing in English;
  • A specialisation in one sector or cross-cutting theme OR extensive multi-sectoral experience;
  • Advanced technical quant and qual skills;
  • Complete natural fluency in written and spoken English; and
  • Be completely aligned with our values and our goals on diversity, inclusion and localisation.

Benefits

We have a social mission to increase impact in humanitarian and emergency responses and development programs globally.

This is a full time role in HII's core team, working remotely.

This role will have a competitive base salary along with:
  • you can work from anywhere in the world;
  • work flexibly to cater for carers, parents and other circumstances;
  • generous leave provisions;
  • work with an exceptional team on important projects; and
  • take a central role in building an impactful organisation.
