Description

The International Road Safety Engineer must have:

1.     A bachelor’s degree in road safety or in traffic engineering or in the more general road construction field.

2.     At least 10 years of work experience in the field of road safety over the past 20 years, including 5 years in implementing monitoring road safety for road construction projects.

3.     The Road Safety Engineer must have knowledge, experience and skills in in the field of road safety audit, application of road safety project standards in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, taking into account the experience of the leading countries of the world in the relevant field, preparing road safety and traffic management plans in relation to major highway construction work sites, as well as in the development of community-awareness road safety campaigns.

4.     He/she must have knowledge of road maintenance machinery and equipment, as well as have experience in the procurement of machinery and equipment, in particular in the preparation of technical specifications.

 Scope of Work:

1.     Review the road safety audit reports compiled during the detailed design stages and of

2.     measures duly included in the design drawings noting any shortcomings for correction during the Works.

3.     Review the Contractor’s own road safety plans for compliance with the specifications and identify any areas that might require changes.

4.     Review periodically traffic conditions in work areas and provide recommendations for improving the road users’ safety.

5.     Conduct a road safety audit in the period near the completion of the Works and report on the findings.

6.     Provide written accounts of all road safety site work undertaken for inclusion in monthly progress and in the project completion documentation.

7.     Organization and participation in road safety campaigns.

8.     Assistance to the Contract Specialist in the development of technical specifications for road maintenance machinery and equipment.

9.     Providing conclusion on the compliance with the technical specifications for each supplied machinery and equipment. The conclusion should be prepared in conjunction with the Contract Specialist.

The total duration of the assignment is 4 months, where he will be initially mobilized in September 2024 for 2 - 2.5 months, and 1.5-2 months in the year 2025.  

We shall provide the following:

  1. Flight tickets from the experts home country to the project country and back.
  2. Transportation and accommodation provided on site by the contractor.
  3. Visa costs covered by Pace.
