Main clients are the German Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), EU EuropeAid and other EU programmes, GIZ, FAO, USAID, WB and other public donors as well as private organisations/companies.

We are currently looking for local Expert on Agri-environment for Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTNs) Project in Romania

Project objectives 

Facilitate knowledge exchange, awareness, and information/innovation transfer to participating farmers. This includes establishing model farms to promote best agricultural practices for pollution prevention and reduction. The project also involves creating national knowledge transfer networks and conducting information and awareness campaigns for the public regarding project activities, including other environmentally - focused interventions funded under the NRRP.

The project is envisaged to start in September with expected duration ca. 3,5 years. The project is funded through the loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). The project is currently in pre-qualification phase; the experts are expected to reside in Romania during the project period.

Qualifications:

• B.Sc./M.Sc./Phd in agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, rural development or related fields
• Min. 8 years of work experience with 5 years of professional experience in the field of agriculture and environment (policy / programs / plans / strategies / projects preparation and / or implementation)
• Good understanding of the agri-environmental sector in Romania
• Excellent data collection & report writing skills
• Excellent understanding / knowledge / experience in knowledge exchange, awareness and information/innovation transfer to farmers  
• Experience in working/networking with agricultural universities, research centres, associations
• Fluency in Romanian and English languages

Tasks:

1. Develop and implement agri-environmental strategies and programs
2. Analyze and evaluate environmental policies and their impact on agriculture
3. Prepare and implement agri-environmental projects
4. Liaison with various stakeholders, including government agencies and farms
5. Prepare reports and presentations on agri-environmental issues
6. Advise and support the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices
