Trainer for Project Management and Proposal Writing

Olive Branch Organization is an independent non-profit organization committed to fostering community development and economic empowerment. Our mission is to empower community members, enabling them to overcome challenges and creatively invest their resources.

Background:
The objective of this initiative is to establish sustainable income opportunities for families impacted by the earthquake, facilitating their recovery process. This initiative also aims to bolster the local economy of Defne, which is strained by a high number of households currently without income.
Currently, we are planning to conduct 2 training packages for beneficiaries as follows:

• TP1: Project management, expected to be conducted with 5 groups for 5 days per each group.
• TP2: Proposal writing, expected to be conducted with 5 groups for 3 days per each group.

Training Main Objectives:

• Introduction to Project Management: Understanding the fundamentals of project management, including its definition, significance, and the framework for effective project execution.
• Practical Skills for Proposal Writing: Acquiring practical skills in crafting comprehensive proposals, covering aspects such as needs assessment, project design, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation.
• Strategies for Effective Project Management: Planning and implementing project management work, incorporating strategies into an organization’s operations.
• Practical Project Management Skills: Acquiring practical skills in analyzing and influencing project-related legislation or policies, preparing briefing notes or position papers/policy papers, working within established systems, engaging in lobbying or face-to-face meetings, crafting and delivering effective presentations for proposals, utilizing persuasive techniques, employing drama for impact, and conducting related interviews.

Methodology:

• Creation of the methodology and training schedule.
• Interactive, engaging teaching methods (e.g., discussions, games, activities).
• Pre and post-test.
• Conduct the evaluation of the training days.
• Follow up and continuous supervision during training days.
• Daily report.
• Trainings are to be physically attended in Defne - Hatay.

Trainer Deliverables:
The following will be the expected deliverables of the consultancy:

• Training materials design and training plan, including strategy, proposed methodologies, and training agenda.

• Training package + presentations + (tutorials/manuals/guidance) any related materials.

• Group timelines and schedule arrangements.

• Successful facilitation of the training.

• Technical advice and support to participants during the training/workshop.

• Attendance sheets.

• Final report on the implementation of the training (including photos and videos with support from our field officers).
  Experience and Skill Requirements:

• Qualifications:

  • Minimum university degree in Business Administration / Political Science or another relevant field.
  • Extensive experience (at least 3 years) in related fields for organizations/teams.
  • Knowledge in Turkish regulations, registrations, and TAX systems regarding SMEs.
  • Extensive experience in building capacities.
  • Demonstrated high level of professionalism and an ability to work independently and under high-pressure situations with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including experience in facilitation of training and presentation.
  • Proven and demonstrated broad knowledge of and ability to utilize principles, methods, techniques, and systems of media and advocacy.
