Renewable Energy Engineer - Commercial

As a Renewable Energy Engineer at JGH Solar, you will work in the bidding/sales department and report directly to the Engineering Manager. You will be involved in the projects from the early bidding phase up until the hand-over phase to the operations department.

We are looking for a person with experience on the field, having executed and commissioned energy power plants and with extensive experience from design to finalization of projects and able to take accurate assumptions to anticipate any issues during the design stage.

About the Job

The Renewable Energy Engineer/Technician will work in the bidding/sales department and report directly to the Engineering Manager and will be involved in the projects from the early bidding phase up until the hand-over phase to the operations department. Key roles are the following:

  • Analysis of tender documents, site feasibility studies, load profiles, etc.
  • Design and preparation of technical solutions and documentation based on available data provided by the client.
  • Communication with suppliers and sourcing equipment and components.
  • Produce Single line diagrams, bill of materials, layouts and simulations.
  • Produce technical design documents for systems, detailing integration and control of Grid, Diesel generators and Solar PV in different combinations.
  • Application of international standards for design of system and components.
  • Proactive contribution to support the team and capacity building.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in designing, executing and commissioning
  • Power systems (energy power plants).
  • Knowledge and experience solving project issues related to system integration in the field (in order to anticipate potential issues that can be faced during project implementation stage)
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Autodesk AutoCAD proficient.
  • Fluent in English and excellent communication skillsMinimum of an Engineering bachelor’s degree.
  • French proficiency is an advantage.Experience with solar plants (C&I scale) is an advantage.
  • Experience placing bids for tenders is an advantage.
  • Experience working with High and medium voltage power transmission, protection and distribution is an advantage.
  • Civil engineering processes that will define if sites are suitable for construction of buildings and PV power plants is an advantage.
  • Experience in simulating with PVSyst / PVSol / HOMER is an advantage

Prerequisite

  • Person should have a valid permit to work in EU
  • Person should be able to work from our office located in Copenhagen for the majority of the time, with some flexibility regarding remote work.
  • Person should be available to travel 20 days a year
